Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Parra completed medical school at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and did her residency training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC). Prior to joining the Skin and Laser Surgery Center, Dr. Parra was an officer and dermatologist in the United States Air Force working as an attending physician at SAUSHEC, where she was responsible for teaching residents and medical students at the Joint Army and Air Force Dermatology Residency Training Program. Most recently, Dr. Parra was Chief of the Dermatology Clinic at the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Parra is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a member of various committees and working groups. She has given several lectures at national conferences related to her experience with telemedicine and tropical dermatology. Dr. Parra has made several trips as a medical volunteer to Africa, Mexico, and South America. She also has extensive experience in laser procedures, including laser hair removal, tattoo removal, treatment for rosacea and facial rejuvenation.
