What are the potential side effects from laser treatments?

Potential side effects with the laser treatments are minimal and include post inflammatory pigmentary changes (discoloration of the skin) which usually resolves over time, temporary redness, altered sensation (also resolves over time), and rarely scarring. Some patients experience redness or mild swelling in the treated area immediately following treatment; this usually goes away in a few hours/days.
